Steel Rivnut Kit 100 Pieces (M6, M8, M10 & M12)
The RivetLab Nutsert Kit includes 100 of our most popular steel rivnuts from the IN9408 series, all in metric sizes:
- 40 x M6 (Grip: 0.8-3.0mm)
- 30 x M8 (Grip: 1.0-3.0mm)
- 20 x M10 (Grip: 1.0-4.5mm)
- 10 x M12 (Grip: 1.0-4.0mm)
These rivnuts have a round body with splines. This design helps them resist turning. They feature a large flanged head for increased stability and reliability for many applications.
The zinc-coated steel construction ensures excellent tensile and shear strength, along with superior corrosion resistance.
Whether you’re a DIY enthusiast or an engineer testing for high volume production, this rivnut kit is an ideal starting point.
Advantages of the Nut Insert Kit:
- Range of Sizes: Suitable for material thicknesses up to 4.5mm (additional grip ranges are available).
- Large Flange: The large flange head offers a robust load-bearing surface and strengthens the hole, helping to prevent push-out.
- Secure Threads: Create permanent captive threads on thin sheets that allow the installation of bolts or screws.
- Multi-Material Joining: Ideal for securely joining two or more materials.
- Versatility: Compatible with a variety of materials, including metals, plastics, and composites.
- Ease of Installation: You can install it from one side using a Rivnut tool. This feature is extremely helpful for making a permanent thread in tubular materials.
- Cost-Effective: Offers strong performance at a lower cost compared to stainless steel options.
This rivnut set provides reliable, high-quality rivnuts to meet diverse application needs.
Installation Tips
Choose the Right Installation Tool: You may use a single-sized manual rivnut tool, like the FAR KJ-15, for specific sizes. Alternatively, choose a rivet nut tool that works with different sizes. The RT-512 nutsert tool kit can handle rivet nuts from M5 to M12 in all materials.
Select the Tool Based on Volume:
- A manual tool is sufficient for low-volume installations.
- We recommend using a battery-powered or pneumatic rivet gun for production or high-volume applications.
Homemade Tools: Some nutserts can be installed with homemade tools. However, we recommend using the proper tool for better results and reliability.
Use the Correct Components: Always match the mandrel and nosepiece to the size of the rivet nut being installed.
Verify Material Thickness: Ensure the material thickness falls within the grip range of the rivet nut.
Prepare the Hole Properly: Drill the hole according to the manufacturer's specifications. Typically, the hole size should be slightly larger than the rivet nut body diameter.
General Applications of Rivet Nuts
Rivet nuts play a key role in various manufacturing processes and are used across a wide range of industries. These applications span industries such as automotive, aerospace, and electronics. They also extend to everyday products, including bicycles, furniture, boats, swimming pools, solar panels, refrigerators, and medical technology.
