Aluminium Rivnut Kit 80 Pieces (M3, M4, M5 & M6) - Strong, Lightweight, and Corrosion-Resistant
The RivetLab Nutsert Kit has 80 of our best-selling aluminium rivnuts from the IN78 series. All are in metric sizes.
- 20 x M3 (Grip: 0.5-1.5mm)
- 20 x M4 (Grip: 0.8-2.5mm)
- 20 x M5 (Grip: 0.8-2.5mm)
- 20 x M6 (Grip: 1.0-2.5mm)
These rivnuts have a round body with splines (except the M3). This design helps them resist turning. They feature a large flanged head for increased stability and reliability for many applications.
They are neatly organised and placed in a clear plastic box. This makes it easy to access and store them. You will always have the right size when you need it.
This kit offers great strength and a lightweight design. It is perfect for projects where both durability and reduced weight are crucial. The aluminium alloy construction offers excellent tensile and shear strength, with enhanced resistance to corrosion, even in harsh environments. This makes the kit perfect for both DIYers and engineers working on prototypes or production lines.
Advantages of the Aluminium Nut Insert Kit:
- Range of Sizes: Suitable for material thicknesses up to 2.5mm (additional grip ranges are available).
- Large Flange: The large flange head distributes the load evenly. This strengthens the hole and stops push-out. It also keeps a lightweight design.
- Secure Threads: Make permanent captive threads on thin sheet materials. This allows you to install bolts or screws for a strong, lasting hold.
- Multi-Material Joining: Ideal for securely joining two or more materials.
- Flexibility: Compatible with a broad range of materials, including metals, plastics, and composites, thanks to its corrosion-resistant properties.
- Ease of Installation: You can install it from a single side using a Rivnut tool. This feature is extremely helpful for making a permanent thread in tubular and thin-walled materials.
- Cost-Effective: Aluminium offers a high-performance solution at a lower price than stainless steel without compromising strength or durability.
This rivnut set provides reliable, high-quality rivnuts to meet diverse application needs.
Installation Tips
Choose the Right Installation Tool: Ensure that the rivnut tool you use is capable of installing rivet nuts up to M6 in aluminium. The Gesipa GBM10 and POP PNT110 are both excellent choices for installing rivet nuts in this kit. The POP PNT110 comes with mandrels and nosepieces ranging from M3 to M6.
Select the Tool Based on Volume:
- For low-volume installations, a manual tool is sufficient.
- We recommend using a battery-powered or pneumatic rivet gun for production or high-volume applications.
Homemade Tools: Some nutserts can be installed with homemade tools. However, we recommend using the proper tool for better results and reliability.
Use the Correct Components: Always match the mandrel and nosepiece to the size of the rivet nut being installed.
Verify Material Thickness: Ensure the material thickness falls within the grip range of the rivet nut.
Prepare the Hole Properly: Drill the hole according to the manufacturer's specifications. Typically, the hole size should be slightly larger than the rivet nut body diameter.
General Applications of Rivet Nuts
Rivet nuts, such as those in the aluminium IN78 nutsert kit, are used in various manufacturing processes across industries. These applications span industries such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, and many others. You can commonly find them in everyday products like bicycles, furniture, boats, swimming pools, solar panels, refrigerators, and medical devices.
With the aluminium composition of this kit, you get a lighter yet equally reliable solution that can withstand the test of time in both commercial and industrial settings. Whether you need to create secure fastening points in thin sheet materials or join multiple layers, this aluminium rivnut set delivers performance and ease of use.
