The FAR RAC182 is the superseded version of the popular tool FAR RAC180. It is a lightweight, versatile air riveter that installs rivets up to 4.8mm in all materials. This tool is designed for high-production applications. It features rivet holding in the nose and vacuum extraction of the spent mandrels into a detachable container. Made in Italy, this tool has a 12-month warranty.

What is the FAR RAC182 used for?

The FAR RAC182 is a lightweight air rivet gun built for high-production riveting. It installs standard rivets up to 4.8mm in all materials, and can also set structural rivets such as Magnalok® and Monobolt® up to 4.8mm with the correct nosepiece installed. It's the current tool in the range, having superseded the FAR RAC180 and RAC181, and comes with nosepieces for 2.4mm, 3mm, 4mm, 4.8mm and 6mm.

What rivet sizes does the FAR RAC182 install?

The FAR RAC182 covers 2.4mm up to 4.8mm in all materials. With the correct nosepiece installed, it also sets structural rivets like Magnalok® and Monobolt® up to 4.8mm.

What's the difference between the FAR RAC171 and the FAR RAC182?

The main difference is capacity and application. The FAR RAC182 is the lighter, more compact tool: standard rivets up to 4.8mm, with structural capability up to 4.8mm with the correct nosepiece installed. The FAR RAC171 is the heavier-duty option: standard rivets up to 4.8mm in all materials except aluminium, up to 7.8mm in aluminium only, plus structural rivets like Magnalok® and Monobolt® up to 6.4mm as standard. That extra range and pulling force make the RAC171 heavier (2.9kg vs 1.7kg) and larger, while the RAC182 stays compact for fast, repetitive riveting where lower weight reduces operator fatigue.

Should I choose the FAR RAC182 or the FAR RAC171?

If you're mainly installing standard rivets up to 4.8mm and want a lighter tool for high-speed, repetitive production work, the FAR RAC182 is the better fit. If you need to install larger standard rivets up to 7.8mm in aluminium, or structural rivets like Magnalok® or Monobolt® up to 6.4mm as standard equipment, the FAR RAC171's extra pulling force is the right choice.

Does the FAR RAC182 come with nosepieces?

Yes. The FAR RAC182 ships with five nosepieces (2.4mm, 3mm, 4mm, 4.8mm and 6mm), a 5mm Allen wrench, hydraulic oil bottle, spent mandrel guard and the operating manual.
